Williams Lake Arts & Entertainment
Williams Lake's very own Thunder Mountain Speedway is a 3/8 mile, paved, banked oval. The track is 50 feet wide, is banked 12 degrees on the corners and 3.5 degrees on the straights and is H shaped to provide a longer straight away between turns 3 and 4. Thunder Mountain Speedway is home to such classes as Street Stocks, Pro Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunderbee's, Tough Trucks, and the ever-popular Crash-to-Pass (or hit to pass) series! Invitational classes also include Dwarf cars, the Wescar Series, Katana Boats Sportsman Series, Sprint cars and Mug Boggers.
Today the Gallery sees a large volume of tourists and local craftspeople coming through the doors to visit as well as to exhibit. Each month, the Gallery exhibits a variety of contemporary works in many mediums by local, regional and touring artists. The society also operates a gift shop that features the work of local artists and crafts people. Upstairs there is room for small workshops such as the children's art classes offered each summer. Guided tours are offered to local school children as well.
