Big Brothers of Regina
Our mission statement is: To enhance the growth, development and well being of young people from at-risk homes by providing positive adults to mentor them. We offer three programs - Big Brothers - In-School Mentoring and Digital Heroes. Commitments range from being 30 minutes online each week to 3-5 hours in person with someone who needs a mentor.
The Regina & District Food Bank
The Regina and District Food Bank does not receive or request provincial or federal government operating grants. It operates entirely on donations from the general public. Grants have been received from various levels of the federal, provincial and municipal governments to operate lifeskills education and training classes. Food hampers are distributed through a referral system with approximately 150 agencies made up of churches, schools and social-concerned organizations. Each month, approximately 9,000 to 10,000 people, half of whom are childen, receive a hamper. Bulk food orders are distributed weekly to numerous feeding programs in Regina.
