Our innovative programs feature a unique perspective towards Empowerment, Crime Prevention, Personal Safety and Self Defense. StreetSense provides training and consulting services for Alberta’s largest corporations, institutions and events. We also provide training and education for the public.

United Way of Calgary and Area provides funding and other support to programs operating within local agencies. With more than 60 years of experience, we are in the business of creating a meaningful and tangible impact in each community across our city. We provide leadership and support to the non-profit sector and connect community members to find long-term solutions to the issues that affect us most. Through community partnerships, our experienced employees and volunteers look for gaps and opportunities in services and invest in a combination of programs that do the greatest good in the most effective way.

The Calgary Food Bank is a crisis facility to feed Calgarians in need. Individuals and families receive hampers containing enough food for approximately one week to a maximum of six hampers per year. We are able to provide over 200 families with food and resources each day because of the dedication and compassion of our volunteers. Last year, more than 4,204 individual and group volunteers gave an amazing 95,812 hours of their time to help us feed the hungry. In over 20 years of service we've developed incredible partnerships with more than 100 not-for-profit agencies, and have implemented many initiative programs to better serve the community.

Child Safe Canada is Alberta's premier provider of child safety education. Our professional safety educators offer a wealth of valuable knowledge, compassion, and caring to students throughout Alberta. Child Safe Canada offers Red Cross babysitter training, home alone safety, Stangers and Dangers, child care first aid training and much more to communities, individuals,associations, and schools throughout Calgaryand right across Canada. Prevention is the key to childhood safety. Child Safe Canada is teaming up with local organisations to ensure the safety of our children!
