The Brooks Animal Protection Society (formerly Brooks and District SPCA) is a charitable organization dedicated to finding homes for surrendered animals. We are a very unique society, as we hold the contract with the City of Brooks,for Animal Control. All animals that are brought in through Animal Control are put up for adoption after four business days if not claimed.

At the Cochrane & Area Humane Society, staff and volunteers provide food, shelter, medical care and the opportunity for adoption to unwanted, surrendered, lost and unclaimed animals while promoting responsible pet guardianship through educational programs, rural spay/neuter programs, and public fundraising events.
