Town of Ajax
Ajax is part of Durham Region, one of the fastest growing areas of Ontario. The population of Ajax is close to 90,000, with hundreds of new homes being built every year. The Town has a vibrant business community as well, with over 1,500 businesses and a labour force of more than 41,000. Our retail sector includes a regional shopping centre at Harwood Ave. N. and Highway 2 (Kingston Rd.), along with many smaller outlets.
United Way - Ajax Pickering Uxbridge
United Way of Ajax-Pickering-Uxbridge is an incorporated non-profit charity focused on supporting the healthy development of our community. In addition to running an annual fundraising campaign to support a vital network of human service programs, we work in collaboration with people from the political, corporate, labour and social service sectors to create capacity within the communities we serve, and to create community impact.
AJAX - Library
The Ajax Public Library actively provides links between our community's information and recreational needs and a spectrum of resources. We have a distinguished history, beginning in 1891 with the Mechanics Institute Library in Pickering Village. Currently, three branches provide community access to diverse collections, Internet computers, children’s programs and meeting space. This website provides a virtual branch allowing you to search the Library Catalogue and conduct research from the comfort of your home or office.
